Travel the Y Way is all about bespoke, immersive, small group journeys, tailor-made to bring together like-minded travellers who experience the world the way we do - purposefully, passionately, and in style.

Using our eight 'portals of passion', the Y Factors, we curate unforgettable, immersive travel experiences that go beyond the ordinary. We are thrilled to announce our very first Travel the Y Way - Wellbeing journey from September 6-13 2026.

Experience a different side of beautiful Bali with your Wellbeing host, Dr Tanya Cates. Our itinerary and experiences have been thoughtfully designed around the concept of ‘yin & yang’, highlighted by the diversity of the two exceptional COMO properties we will be calling home for our wellbeing week — 3 nights at vibrant coastal COMO Uma Canggu, where we will embrace active, playful wellness by the ocean, followed by 4 nights at tranquil COMO Shambhala Estate, nestled in the lush spiritual heart of the island for holistic rejuvenation.

Your Wellbeing Week...

Day 1 (Sunday) - Welcome to Bali!

Welcome to Bali! After your transfer from the airport to COMO Uma Canggu, take time to settle into your beautiful beachside room and soak in the coastal energy of this vibrant surf town.

This journey is designed to give you the yin and yang of Balinese wellness experiences—starting here in Canggu with fun, active wellness by the coast, before transitioning to the spirituality and holistic wellbeing of Ubud's lush hills. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, perhaps booking a one-on-one reformer or exercise physiology session with Tanya to begin your personalised wellness journey.

As the sun begins to set, we'll gather for Welcome Drinks followed by a spectacular COMO Seafood BBQ on the beach, where you'll meet your fellow travellers and set intentions for the transformative week ahead.

Day 2-3 (Monday - Tuesday) COMO Uma Canggu

Our days on the coast embrace the vibrant, active energy of Canggu, blending adventure, creativity, and ocean-side wellness. 

Begin Monday morning with a peaceful guided meditation with Tanya on the beach lawn, feeling the gentle sea breeze on your skin. Fuel up with a healthy COMO breakfast before our exhilarating E-bike tour to the iconic Tanah Lot sea temple, perched dramatically on a rock formation in the ocean. Monday evening brings us together for some creative fun with a pre-dinner mocktail making class. 

Tuesday again offers the opportunity to rise early and join Tanya for an energising Unfurl mat Pilates class on the beach, before heading to a sensory scented candle making workshop with Seven Senses. 

Afternoons over these two days are yours to design - indulge in a massage, book your one-on-one Pilates or exercise physiology session with Tanya, explore the local neighbourhood, relax by the pool, or participate in one of COMO's scheduled wellness classes. Optional experiences* such as horse riding on the beach, surf lessons to ride the famous Canggu waves, or even puppy yoga can also be arranged on these afternoons - because wellness should always include joy and playfulness!

Each evening we will gather together for a group dinner at COMO’s Beach Club restaurant to a delicious, healthy meal and to share our stories from the day’s adventures.

Day 4 (Wednesday) - Canggu to Ubud

We begin our final coastal morning with Tanya's uplifting sunrise silent disco on the beach - guaranteed to raise those endorphins as we dance like no-one's watching to the rising sun.

The morning is yours to enjoy our last few hours in Canggu before checking out of our rooms to make the scenic journey to COMO Shambhala Estate, travelling from the vibrant coast to the tranquil, lush hills of Ubud - shifting the energy from yang to yin, from active coastal energy to spiritual jungle sanctuary.

Upon arrival, settle into your beautiful jungle residence before experiencing one of the trip's most profound moments: a group water blessingwith a local priest at a sacred spring. This ancient purification ritual marks our transition into the heart of Balinese spirituality and holistic wellbeing.

The remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. Join COMO's scheduled wellbeing classes, relax by your residence's private pool, or take the steps down to the stunning spring water pool overlooking the Agung River.

This evening we will meet at Shambhala's Glow restaurant for another healthy & delicious group dinner.

Day 5 - 7 (Thursday - Saturday) - COMO Shambhala Estate

Our three days spent immersed in Shambhala Estate's jungle embrace offer the perfect balance of spiritual exploration, holistic wellness activities, and blissful free time.

Ease yourself into each day with pre-breakfast classes designed exclusively for our Travel the Y Way group - from gentle Qi Gong and yoga sessions to a special village & rice paddy bicycle tour through the breathtaking local countryside, immersing ourselves in the rhythm of rural Balinese life.

Throughout these days, you'll experience truly special moments and delightfully diverse wellbeing experiences designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. We will discover the secrets of COMO's wellness cuisine with a Shambhala cooking class, learning about their nutrition philosophy as we prepare and savour lunch together. Join our gratitude blessing making class, learning the art of creating traditional Balinese offerings. Participate in a meaningful community generosity excursion to give back to the Balinese people who've welcomed us so warmly. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the river, surrounded by nature's symphony.

We have also included an abundance of leisure time to discover wellness your own way. Indulge in massages and treatments, book your one-on-one session with Tanya, join COMO's scheduled classes including invigorating hydrotherapy, breathwork, meditation, yoga, Pilates, estate walks, mindful mandala, and Shambhala stretch, or simply relax by your residence's private pool.

For those seeking additional adventures, optional excursions include river rafting, a 'spiritual alignment' personal palmistry andastrology reading with a village healer, or a shopping tour into Ubud town centre.

Each evening brings us together for dinner at beautiful locations including Shambhala Estate's Glow restaurant, COMO Uma Ubud's Italian-themed Uma Cucina, and for our final night, a spectacular surprise Farewell Dinner - a truly unique and unforgettable celebration of our journey together.

Day 8 (Sunday) - Farewell!

For our group’s final morning together, we will join Tanya for a peaceful guided gratitude meditation, reflecting on the transformation and connections we've experienced throughout this journey from coast to hills, from yang to yin, from activity to stillness.

After breakfast, there's one last opportunity to embrace movement at one of COMO's scheduled classes before we check out of our rooms and say goodbye to the wonderful COMO staff - and each other.

Airport transfers will be arranged for those heading home, or you are free to make your own onward travel arrangements. Either way, we feel confident you will carry the balance, peace, and vitality of Bali with you as you continue on to your next destination.

Meet Your Travel The Y Way Wellbeing Host…

Dr Tanya Cates

Dr Tanya Cates, Director of Fit Advisor, is highly skilled with a PhD in Applied Science and accreditations in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education, Fitness Instruction, Pilates, and Health Sciences, blending science, passion, and expertise into her commitment to revolutionise physical activity.

With over 30 years experience in the fitness industry, Tanya is also an internationally certified Instructor, Educator and Ambassador for Balance Body Pilates Instructor education programs. With her studies and lecturing of anatomy, movement, musculoskeletal conditions, chronic disease, health promotion and engagement spanning over 20 years, she has an deep understanding of the human body literally from the inside out.

A bundle of enthusiastic energy, Tanya believes that wellbeing is not purely about deprivation and sacrifice, but is an overall holistic lifestyle based on 'intelligent wellness'. Tanya's approach starts with strong physical foundations whilst recognising the importance of incorporating joy, balance, and humour into everyday life - which is what makes her perfect as our host on this Travel the Y Way journey, as she combines her own wealth of knowledge and experience with the state-of-the-art facilities, stunning location, and specialist wellbeing team at COMO Shambhala Estate & COMO Uma Canggu.

On a Travel The Y Way small group journey we like to take most of the decision making and additional expenses out of your hands by including the not only your luxury accommodation, but also most of the incredible immersive experiences described in the itinerary, the majority of your meals, and your airport transfers at the start and end of the trip, so that all you have to do is relax and enjoy.

Of course, we understand that you might like a bit of flexibility as well, so we leave some lunches and optional excursions entirely up to you - Do as much or as little as you like!
